NINE STONES CLOSE NEWSFLASH!

NEW DRUMMER FOR NINE STONES CLOSE ALBUM; RUMOUR AND SPECULATION ENDS HERE.

Adrian Jones is immensely pleased and proud to announce that the very talented and cool Mr Pieter van Hoorn will be joining Nine Stones Close for their impatiently awaited new album, a follow up to 'Traces'. Pieter currently drums for Knight Area, the successful and highly regarded Dutch band currently touring and about to hit the East Coast of America. A huge coup for Nine Stones Close to have such an addition to their ranks, here is a brief introduction to Mr van Hoorn, taken from the Knight Area website http://www.knightarea.com/

Pieter started playing the drums at the age of seven. He struck his first beats in a marching band and later he was educated at the local school of music

Pieter van Hoorn

. At the age of 17 he passed the entrance exam of the conservatoire, but in this period he had to fulfil his military service.
At the age of 15 Pieter had already joined his first (new wave) band which toured The Netherlands and Belgium. A few years later he played in a cover band called Deadline. With Deadline he has recorded a live- and a studio album. Pieter also played in Empire, a hard

rock band with their own material in the style of Queensryche, Metallica and Iron Maiden.
In the year 2001 Pieter toured with the Canadian singer/songwriter Shannon Lyon. Playing at the Oerol festival was a highlight of this tour. Later Pieter joined the cover band Jukebox Night. In this band he met Gerben Klazinga who asked him to play the drums in the Knight Area Band.
Pieter also plays the drums in a fantastic cover band, called Xtralars. The guys play the great tracks from bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden and many other super metal bands. In 2011 Pieter contributed to the new album of Anton Roolaart (NYC) by recording several drum tracks for his new album.
Today Pieter still attends master classes (drums) by Cesar Zuiderwijk of Golden Earring and Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree).

On the decision to work with Nine Stones Close Pieter said "I am very excited to be part of this great recording process and to have the opportunity to add my drums to these wonderful compositions. For sure this will be a great album with very talented musicians!"

Pieter has been working closely with Adrian already, the chemistry is sparking and they are looking forward to spending some quality time in the studios in the upcoming weeks. The songs are all written and sounding amazing, and they will only be improved with such a fresh addition; watch this space for further exciting news!
